Exercise and Healthy Diet Helps Fight Cancer
Regular exercise sessions along with a healthy diet increase your chances for optimal health. When thinking about appropriate exercise for cancer sufferers it is wise to be mindful of the fact that some medicines cause sensitivity to the sun, so people on those drugs would exercise indoors.
For those people who were physically active before their cancer diagnosis, exercise can bring a sense of normality. Regular exercise brings some quality to life. Fatigue, one of the side effects of chemo, is reduced with exercise. Sometimes exercising at a designated time and place or with a group is the motivating factor needed to incorporate exercise into your life. An exercise buddy or a fitness center might help. Also exercise which has another aim, like sport (where you aim to win, or beat your own previous time) or dance (where you aim to try new steps, improve your technique). The cancer sufferer should always be aware though that they should not push themselves too far. The exercise is for well-being, remember.
Physical activity was shown to not only reduce the risk of developing breast cancer but also lower the risk of death for women with the disease. Dr. Christine Friedenreich states that exercise may cut cancer risk by trimming body fat, reducing estrogen levels and controlling insulin levels.
Adding a healthy diet, including fresh fruits and vegetables, to regular exercise increases your chances for optimal health and helps prevent cancer or a recurrence.
